African Fashion International (AFI) kicked off this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT) last night by hosting a gala dinner, together with the event’s official partner, City of Cape Town, at the historic Civic Centre. The evening included a fashion presentation by two emerging designers, Earnest Mahomane, a developmental designer being mentored by one of fashion’s foremost creators and MBFWCT’s event producer, Gavin Rajah. And head designer Kelly Davids’ emerging fashion label, MilQ and Honey
The colour white dominated Earnest’s collection, with a pop of colour. I like the fitted and tulle skirts but the designs look almost too simple.
Kelly’s collection is dark, edgy and chic. I love the tights and the cute goddess styling.
I wasn’t at the dinner so thanks to Simon Deiner / SDR Photo, for the photos.
