On Wednesday night we toasted to the store opening of British brand Topshop, at Cape Town‘s premier shopping hotspot the V&A Waterfront. We have been waiting in anticipation for the shop, it already has stores in Durban and Johannesburg. The store follows hot on the heels of Spanish clothing retailer Zara, who opened in August. There is now no need for Cape Town fashionistas to go far for the latest trends, as major international brands are arriving in numbers and the popular place seems to be at the V&A Waterfront. On the same night, US based brand Tommy Hilfiger also launched their store. Topshop officially opened it’s doors to the public on Thursday morning. Some eager shoppers camped on their doorstep for 21 hours, hoping to be one of 10 to win shopping vouchers worth R1500.
Founded back in 1964, Topshop represents London’s trendy and edgy street style. The store also has accessories and a menswear wing, Topman. All the latest catwalk trends are there, from chunky sweaters to platform shoes. They have an impressive collection of bold prints and bra-tops, tread carefully here, this trend is for those with flat stomachs;-D
The prices are not for the faint-hearted but if you are fashion-forward your money will be well spent on quality and on trend clothed.
