Thousands, about 35 000 to be exact, gathered at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) for the 14th Cape Town Jazz Festival. For two nights, Friday and Saturday, we were treated to good music and good food. The line-up included 40 artists from all over the world. International artists included Jill Scott, Brand New Heavies and the Orquestra Buena Vista Social Club, among others. Local acts included, Thandiswa Mazwai, Mi Casa, Ben Sharpa &Pure Solid, Jimmy Dludlu, Mafikizolo, Khuli Chana and AKA.

Jill Scott was amazing, she told us stories and she sang her heart out. She interacted with the crowd all the way. And her back-up singers “the pipes” , three hot guys, were amazing.

Dutch group, Chef’s Special, performed at the Moses Molelekwa stage. I liked their music, a mixture of, funk and hip hop.
The Moses Molelekwa stage. We spent quite some time here, mostly because it had comfortable chairs and couches to sit on, unlike the other stages where there was no seating area. My feet are still throbbing from standing for hours. I’m not complaining though;-D
I was impressed by the variety of food that was on offer.. They catered for SA’s diverse nation. We were spoilt, from traditional African cuisine to, Indian food. I had a delicious mutton curry roti on Day 2.
